15 Killed in Shootout with Suspected Islamic Militants who were responsible for the Easter Sunday Suicide bombing.
Sri Lanka is facing one of its worst nightmares after the suicide bombing attacks on its civilians. It is the first mass murder massacre that they are experiencing after end of the the Civil War at 2009.
The attack on the 3 churches and 4 five star hotels shook the country and their people into fear as it killed more than 235 people including many foreigners, women & kids. Just after six days from the Easter Sunday attack, there was a huge gun fight between the Troops and the Islamic Militants who are suspected for the Suicide Bombings on the country. 15 Killed in Shootout with Suspected Islamic Militants which may be responsible for the Easter Sunday attacks stated by the officials.

Facts of the Gun Battle which took place on Friday
According to the local police spokesman, 15 Killed in Shootout with Suspected Islamic Militants among which 6 of them were children were reported from the overnight gun battle which erupted on Friday evening at Sainthamaruthu in Ampara which is at the South of the town of Batticaloa. According to the local police, 3 of the 15 dead were suicide bombers which were responsible for the Easter Sunday attack.
According to Sumith Atapattu (Military Spokesman) stated that while the troops headed towards the safe house, 3 bombs exploded along with gunfire onto the troops. In the statement, he said that the troops also retaliated and finally raided the safe house where they found large caches of explosives as well as many bomb making materials as well as dozens of gelignite sticks and thousands of metal balls were found in a separate house which was nearby to the location of the safe house.
The militants were found to be domestic Islamist group National Towheed Jama’at (NTJ) who were suspected for the suicide bombing. According to the reports from the Government, nine well educated homegrown suicide bombers carried out the Easter Sunday attacks among which 8 of them were identified where one of them was a woman.
According to the police, they were tracking 140 people that they believe have links to Islamic state which can be linked to the suicide bombing that took place on the last Sunday. More than 75 people have been detained including foreigners from Syria & Egypt according to the investigations so far. 25 people were arrested yesterday itself and are held for deep interrogations and investigation is going on 24/7 to find the responsible for the suicide bombing case on the Easter Sunday.
